1. What’s the difference between ENG and VNG?

Both tests record eye movements. The ENG uses electrodes, while the VNG uses a camera. The VNG has some significant disadvantages:
  • The fastest VNG camera ($70,000.00 unit) records only 75 samples per second compared to the 500 samples per second that the ENG records.
  • The 9 pages of raw data from the VNG will need to be sent off to be read by a specialist for a fee.
  • The level of expertise required of the technician is must higher with VNG compared to the ENG.
  • VNG goggle slip during the head-shake testing will yield false readings.
  • A patient is unable to wear his glasses during a VNG test in which a significant portion of the testing the patient is asked to follow a stimulus with his eyes.

7. What’s the next step in the evaluation process?

We can schedule a phone conference with you. During that call, we’ll answer any questions you have. If you decide to move forward, we can help with financing and set up our “demo/install” date (see next question).

8. Do you have a local rep who can demonstrate the equipment?

We have a small staff and market nationwide. So we’re usually not available for a simple demo in your office. However, we offer a solution that works for all of our clients, called the “demo/install.”

Once you have all of the pertinent information needed to make a decision on paper, we will set up a “demo/install” day. Here, we’ll come to your office to train your staff and test patients. If, for whatever reason, you are not 100% satisfied with the equipment quality and test results, we’ll simply pack up and go home. But if all goes as expected, we’ll finalize your purchase, finish your training and start the billing process on the patients tested.
